Give me the Crown!

I wouldn't be a dutchie if I weren't posting SOMETHING about Queensday...

For the not-dutch folks:
You can think of a day for the Queen. It's like her birthday, but not really.
It's her mothers-mothers birthday. Good story right?

It's like a fairy tale! (Gone bad)

What dutch people do on this day?
Yeah, what do YOU or have you done?! Tell us!

Well generally...
They collect ALL their junk and put it out on the streets. To sell and to buy even more rubbish from their neighbours.
And ofcourse drink a lot of alcohol. Great party?

What I HATE about it? Everybody dresses up in orange ("our" colour).

But there's a catch this Queensday! It will be the last one...
No sadly it's not dropped for eternally!

The snotty son of our Queen will be stealing the crone.
From now on it will be Kingsday... And it will be moved to his REAL birthday.

I can't tell you enough that this day isn't my day.
I may have "orange" hair but still, No.

I'll be going to Antwerp! Escaping the country.
Coincedintal P!NK has her concert there!
Me happy. :D

Tonight maybe a drink with some Derby mates.
But tomorrow... I'll be running for my freedom!

*Gets a call that the tickets to Antwerp are being purchased right now.*

If you're not from here, try it out, once, it's totally crazy and packed with people.
Worst nightmare will be in Amsterdam where the passing of the royal power will be.

I wish everybody here a lot of junk and beer! Maybe fun...? Hahah.

With love from Antwerp,
Fox.

Das leben ist ein Spiel

You saw the pictures I made in Berlin already.

Now I want to tell you some more about what and how I experienced the big city of Germany!

Spiel mit mir is the object I took to represent the week we had.
Berlin is a city that is playing all the time.

The buildings, the graffiti everywhere,
the people. It's all a big game.
We've been told that it's never the same.
I can imagine...

Let's just start with legal drinking EVERYWHERE!?
Wow. Everyone & everywhere people are drinking.

I found the best way to support homeless/poor people.
Buy a drink and give your bottle to one of the many collectors.

The shows I've seen where... Let's say, special.
Think of...

A drumming parrot with a guitar playing skeleton.
Six naked woman, dancing, singing, acting and well I don't know.
I've seen a lot. Also Grips children's theatre, which was brilliant!

Playing with your mind.

The worst? An opera with a duration of three hours. Damn.
And that on the arrival day. Tired as hell. In German! Argh.

Ohh and THIS in a museum! Little light show. You can totally lose your mind here.

I absolutely loved all the graffiti! You can see more in my photo blog here.
Wherever you are there is something cool to see.

At one place there was some kind of punker meeting with almost 100 peeps.
Looked awesome in this place with empty buildings with graffiti everywhere.

I noticed that most people are grumpy!
That's a shame. 'Cause the city isn't.

At least one shop owner was cool.
He wanted me to marry his son... Sorry, no!

And I'm currious... Did you notice that the toilets everywhere are really dark?

One toilet only had a candle to light the room. Funniest? One smelled like Gummibears.

Got myself a little dog too. He followed me!

Just like this (must be a) fan with a shirt I wanted to steal...
Well, seen a lot, learned a lot! It was a good week.

Byebyee Berlin!

Watch My Berlin !

Well, I'm back from my trip to Berlin.
Because pictures are faster than I can write...
A blog full of pictures of Berlin!

Enjoy.

It was a huge place with buildings that been sprayed with graffiti.
Really impressive! Also with the punkers meeting there.

Just a little courtyard. Keep on watching and explore so many things.

Cute Origami I found hanging there elegantly.

All together an interesting view.

I just had a laugh about this one!

I keep on loving all the amazing art work you'll find on every corner of the streets of Berlin!

Not to forget all the little shops with loads of alcohol!
Legal drinking on the streets Ö

BIG buildings, all different but in some way the same...

The holocoust monument. The picture somehow moves.
With a crack in the foundation.
Intriguing to walk through. People dooming up everywhere.

I love those laundromats and these colours are a beauty!
I wanted to go to things like this and play guitar, but never did.

Cute little café with delicious waffles.
The fluffy chair looks like it's gonna walk away every second now.

And even more street art to top it of.

I wanted to show you my view of Berlin.
These pictures reflect what I've seen in this week.

© I made all pictures myself.

With love,
Fox.

Theatre vs Concert

Last weekend I went to two concerts!
It was awesome.
Not only watching and hearing the music...

Have you ever tried watching the audience?
It's amazing how dumb and weird some are!

Take a look around you.

So many people with a telephone/camera out there.
I heard a woman next to me say: "lots of people with those things!"

It's a nice view, though, all the screens lighting up and going down.
A sea of screens.

An old picture I took of the screens, and a beauty of a flash hahah.

The woman next to me is putting her finger in the air.
Doing epic movements while her finger is helpless up there.
Why!?

Oh, and please people... Flash your camera's!
It sure makes a brilliant picture of the bald backhead of the man in front of you.

Someone in front of me is trying to be populair with an old picture.
The picture she's sending to her, two, WhatsApp contacts is a close up.
You know you're standing on the balcony right? Facebook might like it?

So here's my terrible picture I took at the concert!
Brag about it on Facebook ofcourse!
Trying to be artyfarty by making a picture of a picture.
Because the quality sucks...

There's a big difference between a theatre show or a concert!
Last week I didn't only see 2 concert but also 3 theatre shows.

There's a theatre festival in Utrecht at the moment.
Seen 3 totally different shows. Greatest about it?
The audience is quiet!

Well... Not at a childrens show but they make funny comments.
No flashing camera's, so no showing of on Facebook.

Ok, last picture to brag about!
The most lovely theatre I even been...

It's Shakespears Globe! <3

The Dazzling Love Story

Prepare for an amazing and LOVEly story!
Not a soppy exagerrated love story, a true story.

Recently I visited my grandparents again.
It has been a while. But I'm always happy to see them.

I love being with them! No mather what or where.
And not to forget the Tutti Frutti my grandmother makes! Jumm

Where's that love story, you asking?!

Well... It was a special occasion.
I came to introduce my love: the first time I brought someone there.

And for me, my grandparents are the ultimate example of perfect love.

They married in 1951! My grandmother wasn't even 20, like I am now...
So they are married for 62 years now!!! Unbelievable.

Watching them now makes me happy and secretly a bit proud.
I just reached the six months! I'm proud of that, but next to them...

To see them still happy together after everything they've been through
makes me wish I will have that untill I die! Happily together.

Oh, I haven't even told you the brilliant story behind this perfect couple!

How they met:

My grandmother sat in the train in Roermond when two young men came in.
They had a conversation and she just invited them for coffee that turned into dinner.
Spontaniously.

They came later that day and went. But he didn't dissapear.
He called to her work and asked if they could meet again.
They saw each other a couple of times and continued a letter conversation.
All the way from Groningen to Limburg (two ends of the Netherlands)
the love story went on...

For ever and ever and ever and everrr.
So romantic! It makes me smile every time.
